Whoever hears North America often automatically thinks of the United States or maybe Canada. This is not completely wrong. But there are a few more countries belonging to the continent. In fact there are 23 countries in total.
Admittedly, most of them are smaller countries, as for example Panama or the islands of the Caribbean. But there are also larger countries like Mexico or Greenland.
North America is the third largest continent in the world after Asia and Africa and covers an area of 24,930,000 km² including Greenland, the Central American land bridge and the Caribbean.
North America has about 529 million inhabitants and is worldwide the most urbanized continent with 81 percent.
In North America there is almost every landscape, from the deserts in Mexico and the USA to the Arctic in Canada, which makes travelling extremly exciting.
